Two trainwrecks for the price of one: LiLo and Amanda Bynes updates.
I think I’ll start with Lindsay this morning, because it’s been a little while since we caught up with her, unlike Amanda, who is the current reigning Princess of PCP. I am the Queen, OBVIOUSLY.
So, last time we talked LiLo, she had checked into Betty Ford after some characteristically chaotic, hot mess fuckery about which rehab facility she would actually end up checking in to and an interview where she called the whole process ‘pointless’. Since then, she’s been relatively low-key. Reports have surfaced that they took away her beloved Adderall, for her “ADHD”, and that she was freaking out because she was gaining weight, but there were no 911 calls, like the last time she was at Betty Ford, so I guess you can label that ‘progress’?
Anyway, TMZ is now reporting that Lindsay is slaying rehab. She’s going to all her one-one-one and group counselling sessions, taking shit seriously, and she’s even talking to her friends about what she’s learning about herself, and has told them that although the program is getting more complicated and emotional, that she’s not shying away from it. But wait, there’s more!
Lindsay is currently bunking in a room with two other girls, and unlike last time, she’s not breaking out of rehab to get shitfaced and cause trouble with them, but rather, is getting along with them both. WUT?!
Two days ago, she returned to Twitter, tweeting:
The link goes to some app called Just Sing It! that she’s been promoting recently. Sounds like she’s doing okay for the time being, though, so that’s nice. I’m not going to hold my breath for a reformed Lindsay Lohan to emerge from rehab, though, because we’ve all been down that path before, haven’t we? For the time being, though, it sounds like she’s doing really well… which is probably why Michael Lohan wants to have her moved from Betty Ford.
TMZ caught my boy MiLo (who you should all be following on Twitter because reading his feed provides me with a stupid amount of entertainment.) at the airport the other day (click here to watch the video), and this is what he had to say:
TMZ: Are you in town to visit Lindsay at all?
MiLo: I’d like to, I’d like to get out there.
TMZ: If you go visit her, are you going to bring the family, or go solo?
MiLo: We’re gonna have to see. Family week is next week. I wanna take care of some things with the court, and get her transferred. She’s at Betty Ford; I think it’s only going to be temporary in regards to recovery, but if she goes to the Lukens Institute, where I want her to go, I think it will be permanent, I’d stake my, I’d stake everything on it. I know she’ll get better if she goes there.
TMZ: So you think she needs to get outta there?
MiLo: Absolutely. Why should she repeat the same program three times in a row? It’s not even, I mean, it’s a twelve-step program, she’s done it before, at least Lukens is extended care and it’s really one-on-one. It’s a very very high level of treatment.
[PCP note: This is in regard to the fact that Betty Ford only do up to 30 day programs, but MiLo has apparently not heard or does not believe them when they said that they will cater to her sentence and design the program around the 90 days so she’s not just doing the same thing 3 times over.]
TMZ: So, with all this going on with Amanda Bynes, do you look at the Amanda Bynes story and think about Lindsay and think “she’s actually doing pretty well, when you think about it?”
MiLo: But listen, anyone who has an addiction is not doing well. I’m happy Lindsay’s in treatment, I think that Amanda should be… The fact that her parents want her in a mental hospital, I don’t really think that’s a good idea. I think she, she needs treatment, too. She needs trauma therapy. There’s something that switched addiction on, something’s making her use, and I don’t know what that is, but there are specialists who can do that, and I don’t think she’s going to find them in a psychiatric hospital. There’s no way. And I pray for Amanda’s family, too. I’m very proud of Lindsay, and I’m happy the way that the whole family’s around her to support her.
Boom. And now we’re talking about Amanda Bynes. Thanks for the segue, MiLo.
Okay, so first things first, there’s been some debate about whether Amanda actually tweeted all that shit about Rihanna yesterday. Amanda is saying that it’s not her, which is a possibility because there is a fake Amanda Bynes account that gets quite a bit of attention (and is hilarious. @arnandabynes), although I didn’t see the Rihanna tweets when I searched for them this morning. They could just as easily have been deleted, though. Anyway, this is what Amanda had to say about it:
The last line is my fave, especially the ‘educated multi-millionaire’ part. Honestly though she sounds so convinced that she is in the right that it almost convinces me? Or maybe it’s just that I’m still not sure if she’s trolling and IS actually doing all of this as some kind of social experiment for her PHD or something.
Where are we all standing on that currently, anyway?
On her arrest, here are her ‘final words’ on the situation:
I mean, this is all just more of the same, until you get to the part where you find out that she’s looking forward to a ‘long and wonderful career as a singer/rapper!’
AMANDA BYNES – RAPPER.
I can’t even… like I just hope with my entire being that this happens because if her raps are even a little bit like her tweets then it will be nothing short of MAGICAL.
Oh, and then this happened:
Now, if you’re anything like me, you ‘discovered’ Waka Flocka Flame like 6 weeks or so ago, when the remix video to Scream & Shout came out. He is the hot one with dreadlocks.
And then, you rediscovered him a couple of weeks later while listening to the ‘Spring Breakers’ soundtrack and pretending to be gangsta:
Honestly, if he teamed up with Amanda Bynes and they released a single I would probably have a heart attack out of excitement at this point.
And finally, a couple of tales from the rumour mill:
Amanda Bynes has been attracting attention and concern for her erratic behavior in recent months – culminating in her arrest Thursday night for allegedly smoking pot in her lobby and tossing a bong out her 36th-floor New York apartment window.
And a resident of her building says her strangeness is even more magnified up close.
“She just stares at people. Her eyes look really messed up. It’s very clear [to me that] she’s not just smoking pot,” the resident tells PEOPLE.
The former child star, 27, was released Friday morning following her arraignment on charges of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana, and the building source made it clear she won’t be welcomed back by the neighbors with open arms.
“When you see her, you’re nervous to even be in the elevator with her,” says the source.
Bynes, who underwent a psychiatric evaluation Thursday night after her arrest, and appeared in court in a frizzy blond wig and sweat pants, often looks equally unusual in the building.
“Sometimes she’s really dressed up, studded Louboutins and white jeans but with tanning lotion all over her and carrying her big gold bag. Other times she is so insanely disheveled in Adidas flip-flops and sweats with her hair all messed up,” says the source. “It’s clear from very far away, just by looking at her and the way she acts, that she has issues.”
Inside her apartment, the scene is similarly concerning. A neighbor who has been inside her apartment saw that her bathtub was filled with boxes and other items, and that the unit is very messy and dirty.
The odd habits are in line with her provocative Twitter postings, and almost daily media accounts of unusual behavior, in addition to her history of DUI and automobile-related cases in Los Angeles.
The building source says Bynes has trouble simply walking down the hall.
“She stumbles. She sways and can barely stand up straight. She walks into people a lot. She just doesn’t have any regard for people around her or where she is going.”
A Hollywood publicist and friend of Amanda Bynes tells RadarOnline.com he sounded the alarm to New York police on Thursday night because he had “proof she was suicidal.”
Jonathan Jaxson said Bynes, 27, was arrested and taken to a Manhattan hospital to undergo a psychiatric evaluation only after he alerted police to apparent evidence of her mental state and “other things.”
The New York Police Department has not confirmed any report of a suicidal person and law enforcement sources told NBC News they were responding to a report of a disorderly person.
Another report, from FOX New York, said Bynes was arrested for allegedly smoking marijuana in the lobby of her building. Authorities charged her with tampering with evidence — a felony — as well as reckless endangerment and marijuana possession, police confirmed to RadarOnline.com.
“It’s been a long few hours,” Jaxson told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview moments after the news of her arrest became public.
“I got police to be able to go to her home. I am told they found drugs and other things. I had proof she was suicidal. There were text messages and other things. I repeated all of this to the NYPD and they took it seriously.”
Describing his action as a “successful intervention,” Jaxson added: “I want the world to know that this is a victory and that she is now going to get the help she deserves.”
When cops arrived at her Midtown address at about 7:40 p.m., the ex-Nickelodeon star reportedly threw a bong out the window of her 36th floor apartment – in front of police!
Fortunately, no one was hit when it fell.
In a Tweet late Thursday night, Jaxson wrote: “Everyone please say a prayer that our intervention worked and that @amandabynes has been arrested she will get the help she needs! #love.”
This was not the first time he’d supposedly raised his concerns about Bynes to law enforcement: On May 1, he called the NYPD and tweeted at their handle that the ex-Nickelodeon star was “soooo messed up on drugs” in the hope that officers would perform a welfare check.
“Amanda had called me and we had a private conversation, but it was clear to me that she was high on drugs,” he said, at the time.
“Then, she said that she didn’t want to live anymore. I took that as that she wanted to kill herself. I freaked out.”
